Sandboxels Recap #1 - New Mod, Videos, and More!

Everything you missed from the Sandboxels community and developer over the past couple weeks.

Welcome to the first edition of Sandboxels Recap! Below you will find news from the past couple weeks, with tons of ways to get involved in the community.

⛏️ Survival Mode

We’ve developed a new official mod for Sandboxels.

Start with limited resources, start farming, and sell your harvest for Gold Coins. Spend them in the Shop for more resources!

Community members have already used different strategies to earn money, including synthesizing Diamonds and making Ketchup.

Here’s how to enable the mod:

1. Go to Sandboxels and press the Mods button in the toolbar.

2. In the text box, type “survival.js” exactly, without the quotes.

3. Press Enter, then refresh your page.

You can remove it in the same Mod Manager if you’re done having fun!

📝 Wiki Activity

There has been a recent uptick in activity on the official Sandboxels Wiki. Community members have added over 50 articles over the past week, including an overview of the Lattice element.

Anyone can create an account and begin editing! Check out all of the element pages!

📣 Boxelposting

A recent TikTok about nuclear reactors exploded, reaching over 1.5 million views. Welcome to all the new players who found the game that way! We are also posting on YouTube and Instagram.

We’ve also begun doing more exclusive posts on our Twitter, rarely known as X. Follow if you still use it!

Our Discord has grown by almost 2,000 members this month.

🔬 Bug Fixed

A bug preventing Sandboxels save files from being loaded on iOS and iPadOS has been FIXED! You can now load them from Files. However, saves created on desktop may not look good on mobile.

🧪 Upcoming Stream

The folks at Science Game Center will be streaming Sandboxels live on their new Twitch channel next Thursday, February 22nd at 4 PM EST!

Be sure to follow to be notified when they go live, everyone will be there!

This article format may change. I’ve been wanting to do this for a while, but never could get it right.
