Long-awaited additions and polish to celebrate this year's Sandboxels anniversary.
Sandboxels turns 3 years old today, December 15th, 2024. To celebrate, weβre releasing a new update that you can play right now!
𧱠New Textures πͺ
Some elements are getting a makeover!
Bricks appear less flat with new shading, and once again have their grain! The βRuinsβ element now also has a Brick texture.
Glass is shown with a light border, affecting any pixel that is next to air or a non-solid.
π§ New Powders π«
Powder versions of Cheese and Chocolate were added to make cooking more responsive. They can be made by breaking the respective ingredients, with the Smash tool or explosions.
In addition, the Smash tool will move around pixels that canβt be broken down further. This is helpful for tenderizing Meat, for example.
π Human PANIC π³
Humans will now panic when they see dangerous things, like Fire, and run awayβor try to.
There have been other improvements to Humans; Theyβll eat food much more consistently, and will change direction when they hit a wall. They also wonβt eat Human Meat anymoreβ¦
π Quality of Life π¨
We improved so many aspects of Sandboxels; Little things that make a huge difference.
When holding Shift to draw a line of pixels, you will be shown a preview instead of a single thin line.
LEDs, Light Bulbs, and Border can be painted into any color.
And more:
Rocks, Brick Rubble, Dirt, and Sand can be glued to create their solid counterparts.
Recipes related to Clay.
Cheese flows more slowly.
Screenshots will be named after the current loaded save.
20 bugs fixed, including floating powders when using Replace Mode.
New modding capabilities.
