🐜 Sandboxels v1.9.2 OUT NOW 🐝

Many elements receive new uses in this New Year's update! Bee hives, ant tunnels, pickles?!?!? And more!

The ‘New Year New Use’ update for Sandboxels released on January 9th! Below is an overview of the biggest changes—but there were over 80!

💜💙 New Gold Alloys

After the success of NileRed’s ‘Making purple gold’ video on YouTube, many Sandboxels players suggested the alloy be added! We listened, and you can now create it by melting Gold and Aluminum together.

But we didn’t stop there! We also added Blue Gold, which is an alloy of Gold and Gallium. Rose Gold was also recolored to match this new style, which you can see below.

🐝 Bee Hives

That’s right, Bees finally do more than fly around and pollinate! Now, they can visit a hive to deposit their Pollen, which is converted to Honey.

• Bees communicate if there’s a Hive nearby.

• If a Bee isn’t assigned a Hive, it may create one on Wood, and become its Queen Bee.

• Queens will expand their Hive at the start, and create new Bees if Honey is made.

• Honey produced will drip down under a Hive, which Bees can feed off of.

Look around in the trees for the beige Hives!

🐜 Ant Tunnels

Ants also have a home now. They can dig tunnels in soil with the new Ant Wall.

These tunnels can vary greatly in size, and are fragile to explosions and water. Like Bees, Ants also communicate the presence of a nest nearby. They’ll start digging one if none can be found.

These Ants are clearly hard-workers.

They also have improved movement and can travel diagonally up hills.

🥒 Pickles

Many foods can be pickled with Vinegar! This is a staple condiment for hamburgers. You can see it on the Holy Pickle Pyramid above.

🚀 Reworked Rockets

Rocket was previously an element in the Special category, but now it has moved to Weapons, with a completely revamped behavior.

Instead of just moving up and exploding, it’ll fall down until it touches a pixel, which it will proceed to clone as it flies into the air.

✨ Everything Else

There were about 74 more changes in this update, including that solids (immovable pixels) will no longer mix by default! There are also Pipe improvements, new food recipes, bug fixes, plenty of reactions, and more! Complete details for every update can be viewed on the Changelog.
