🧪 Sandboxels v1.9.3 - Mix & Munch OUT NOW 🥩

With the largest changelog ever, this new update adds elements both chemists and master chefs will enjoy!

The ‘Mix & Munch’ update for Sandboxels released on Friday, February 2nd! Below is an overview of the biggest changes—but there were over 100!

🧪 New Chemistry

Many new chemicals and reactions were added! This allows for way more science experiments.

First up is Potassium! When it touches Water, it reacts violently, creating Caustic Potash and burning with a lilac flame.

Magnesium was also added, which burns with a bright white flame.

Potassium and Magnesium allow chemists to discover two previously impossible elements—Potassium Salt and Epsom Salt.

Calcium also got a huge revamp! It will form Quicklime when exposed to the air, and will react with Water, just like its Potassium and Sodium buddies. No more Snails turning into raw Calcium, either.

That isn’t all for the chemists! In fact, there were 26 more chemistry changes, like…

• Water can extinguish single-pixel fires

• Hydrogen can explode its container when burning

• Oil refining into Methane, Propane, Plastic, and Lamp Oil (Kerosene)

• Water can safely touch your Copper!

• Soap can be made from Ash and Grease (More on that later)

• Glue can be made from Bones

Quick & simple oil refinery design. Heat source at bottom produces Propane and Plastic, not hot enough for Lamp Oil!

🥩 New Cooking

Fans of cooking in Sandboxels have much to love about this update!

The new Grease element is left behind when cooking Meat! It can be used in Soap production and deep frying. It cools into solid Fat!

On the topic of Meat, it can now be cured using Salt! This means that it won’t turn to Rotten Meat when touching something nasty… I covered it in Poison to prove!

If you’ve been cooking up some Nut Butter, you may notice the new Nut Oil gather at the top! It can also be used to deep fry, as a vegan alternative. Nut Oil, Butter, and Grease are all cooking oils!

Batter and Dough make more consistent mixes, and don’t always delete their ingredients! They can also be risen by leavening agents, such as Yeast or Baking Soda.

💥 New Everything

WAIT, THAT’S NOT ALL!!!! Check out this ANTIBOMB?!?!?!

That’s right, it actually creates pixels instead of destroying them! Anything that it lands on, in fact! Of course, it still does some damage…

Bees also got major improvements, and no longer fill your whole screen with pollinated plants over time.

Oh, I almost forgot. Sandboxels is now available in multiple languages, including British English, Vietnamese, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, and more! It’s still in BETA, so only elements and categories have translations so far. Thanks to the wonderful community for getting so much done thus far!
